Email Councilmember.Blumenfield@lacity.org (subject: rent freeze) and tell him to vote yes to extend the rent freeze on Wednesday. If the motion fails, a 7–9% rent increase will go through in a city already devastated by high housing costs and evictions.
Tell the mayor and City Council to keep Hillside Villa affordable. The building’s slumlord has been hitting tenants with up to 300% rent increases. If the mayor is serious about tackling homelessness, she needs to do everything possible to keep people in their homes.
Donate to the strike fund supporting University of California academic workers if you’re able. UC workers are deeply rent burdened due to the high cost of living combined with very low wages. #FairUCNow
