Tell Metro to keep giving LA kids and community college students free transit. Use Move LA’s email tool to urge Metro to make its fare-free GoPass program permanent.
The planet is burning. What better time to slash funding to public transit? Tell Governor Newsom to wake up and fund public transit or we will be facing massive service cuts. This is an existential threat to bus and metro in California.
$30 million in bus shelter funding is being held up by Mayor Bass’s inaction. Email her deputy mayor of infrastructure at randall.winston@lacity.org with subject “waive the report,” and write: “Please waive the ED3 report from StreetsLA. Unlock the funds for bus shelters now.”
Sign the ACLU SoCal petition to tell Metro we want a safe and reliable transit system. That means frequent service, lighting, cleaning, transit ambassadors, and vendors on platforms, not $200 million+ per year wasted on cops harassing people over $1.75.
With bus and metro service still infrequent and unreliable and a ridership that is overwhelmingly low-income, this is not the time to increase transit fares. Use CP Colectivo‘s tool to send a message to LA Metro: no fare hikes!
The Metro board has adopted most of the community’s Beautiful Boulevard proposal for Eagle Rock, including dedicated bus lanes. But they need to adopt the rest. Please use the toolkit to send another note to Metro and Councilmember de León: https://eaglerockforward.org/take-action
